The Democratizing Innovation Institute (DI) is a global nonprofit organization that accelerates local people launching real-world solutions for the most pressing problems on earth. Partners democratize innovation by equipping individuals and organizations on the ground with the tools they need for bottom-up experimentation and the training and collaboration they need to make it happen.
Life in Cattle Class
Not everyone sees herself as an innovator or entrepreneur. But nearly all of us have horror stories from work or life, where the systems that are supposed to serve us have become aggressively unresponsive. Confusing billing from service providers, unexplained fees for things that were once free, needing someone to unlock a pharmacy cabinet for us to get shampoo are examples of what it’s like now for most of us living in “cattle class.” The unresolved, looming climate crisis and its effects on our wellbeing is the global version of this predicament.
